Bio: Hama Agha is a Sports Medicine doctor and portfolio GP with a strong interest in musculoskeletal (MSK) medicine. He has been a full member of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine since 2021. Originally from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Hama completed his MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of Nottingham, where he was also awarded the University of Nottingham 2019 SEM Research Award.

He is actively involved in medical education as a clinical examiner at the University of Nottingham. In his clinical practice, he contributes to ad hoc MSK triage and injection clinics within primary care and triage services. Hama is currently exploring opportunities to expand his role into secondary care Sport and Exercise Medicine.

He has a strong interest in promoting physical activity as part of patient care and has led quality improvement projects aimed at improving colleagues’ knowledge and confidence in this area within primary care.

Hama also has a particular interest in racket sports–related MSK injuries. Outside of work, he plays competitive tennis and padel recreationally at club level, which further informs his clinical perspective in managing sports-related injuries.
