The BASEM 2024 Annual Conference aims to bring together over 400 leading health professionals, scientists, clinicians and researchers. The aim is to share and discuss the latest scientific research, clinical best practice and ethics in the field of sport and exercise medicine and it will provide a platform for discussion, debate and new ideas.

The Annual Conference is open to BASEM Members and Non Members. It is aimed at medical practitioners, physiotherapists and all groups of healthcare professionals working with the field of sport and exercise medicine. We welcome everyone from both the NHS and private sectors and we also offer discounted rates for the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine Members and undergraduates.

With a broad programme, there should be something for everyone regardless of career stage.

Coventry Building Society Arena, Judds Lane, Longford, Coventry, CV6 6AQ.

Home of Wasps Sport and Coventry City Football Club.

The Coventry Building Society Arena is easily accessible by car, railway and bus.

By Car

There is plenty of on-site parking – 2,000 spaces – and the venue is conveniently situated off Junction 3 of the M6. If driving, please enter the postcode CV6 6AQ into your sat nav.  Delegates and speakers associated with the conference should head for Car Park A.

To secure a free car parking space, please follow this link to the arena parking system.  Input your registration number and when prompted enter code BASEM24.

The parking system at Coventry Building Society Arena is now fully Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology to improve the visitor experience, but we do recommend that you bring your confirmation email either printed out or ready on your phone.

Alternatively on the day of the event delegates can use the code BASEM24 at any of the payment kiosks around the arena to discount and validate their parking. Please note when using the kiosks this must be done at the end of the event when exiting site, if it is done before and delegates remain on site their parking will not be validated for that time, and they will receive a PCN.

By Train

Coventry Arena Station is on the Leamington-Nuneaton line and only eight minutes from the main Coventry train station. There are multiple bus routes available from the retail park opposite the arena.

Please check the National Rail website for details on times and prices.  Where possible we would suggest booking ahead to secure the best fare and a seat!

The British Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine would like to invite submissions covering any clinical aspect of sport and exercise medicine; anything that relates to the health, well-being, function, illness or injury management of patients or athletes.

BASEM has two award categories open for submissions; the Tom Donaldson Poster Prize for Undergraduate applicants and the Association Prize for Sports and Exercise Medicine for applicants who are Postgraduate level and above.

Applicants can submit their abstract via our awards platform, Good Grants.
