Research: The Influence of Central Obesity and Pelvic Tilt on Integrated Lower-Limb Biomechanics

Bio: Natasha Noel-Barker is an anatomist, clinical orthotist, and academic currently completing a PhD at University of Nottingham focused on clinically meaningful assessment. Her research specialises in functional anatomy, focusing on the relationship between movement, biomechanics, and injury risk, with a particular emphasis on connecting anatomical science with clinical practice.

She has a particular interest in foot and ankle anatomy and is keen to explore the influence of the wider biomechanical chain on injury risk, assessment, and rehabilitation outcomes. To date, her work has explored the validation of assessment methodologies, including ultrasound assessment of the foot and ankle, alongside the identification of clinically meaningful markers that can better inform clinical assessment, rehabilitation, and patient outcomes.

Through an interdisciplinary approach, she is interested in advancing evidence-based strategies that improve injury prevention, clinical decision-making, and rehabilitation across healthcare and human performance settings.
