Research: Investigating the factors influencing individuals considering applying to the Sport and Exercise Medicine specialty training programme; a mixed methods study
Dr Natalie Shur is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM) at the University of Nottingham. She graduated with Honours in Medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 2012, where she also completed an intercalated degree (1st Class) in Sports Science.ย She completed her PhD at the University of Nottingham in 2024 in muscle and exercise physiology. She has an interest in female health related to SEMย and sheย is a co-investigator on a MRC-funded grant exploring muscle mass regulation during menopause and the impact of resistance exercise.
Natalie is the author of Sport and Exercise Medicine OSCEs: An Essential Revision Guide and was awarded the Macleod Medal in 2020 for being the most distinguished candidate in the Faculty of SEM diploma exams. Natalie currently chairs the Women in SEM Trainee Group and sits on the Faculty of SEM Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity Committee.
