Research: Reducing measurement error in FemoroAcetabular Impingement Syndrome assessment: Comparison of practical, automated, patient-initiated reporting of passive hip impingement with standard methods.

Faisal qualified in 2006 and completed the Foundation training and Core Surgical Training rotation with an Orthopaedic theme. He then qualified as a GP in 2014 from the East Midland training scheme and worked in various GP roles, including partnership, locums, salaried, PCN and federation roles.

Following an award from Arthritis Research UK (now called Versus Arthritis) he pursued a Postgraduate diploma in MSK medicine and developed a specialist interest in MSK medicine holding multiple roles in MSK, Pain and Sports over the years including community care and secondary care MSK/Pain roles; grass root, intermediate and elite level sports roles; physical activity promotion. He is also active in consulting, management and Non-executive director roles in a variety of MSK, sports and other Healthtech startups.

He is now a Sports and Exercise Medicine Registrar in the Oxford training programme, Clinical Lead MSK doctor for the Surrey ICS community MSK service, and GP in a West London practice and Oxford Out of hours. He has interests in clinical biomechanics, bedside ultrasound, Functional/Whole-Body Electromyostimulation (WB-EMS) and regenerative therapies.

His intends on using this grant on developing a patient-driven and reliable method of measuring biomechanical parameters of hip movement which can hopefully improve the reproducibility of clinical biomechanical assessments.
