Raj is a final year Sport & Exercise Medicine registrar in London. He is president of the Royal Society of Medicine’s Rheumatology section, and was previously on the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine council as a registrar representative. He earned his medical degree with distinction from the University of Sheffield and completed an MSc in Musculoskeletal Sciences with distinction from the University of Oxford. Raj has attained membership at the Royal College of Physicians and the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine, and holds a BSc in Medical Ethics and Law from King’s College London. He has a robust research portfolio with over 50 publications in high-impact journals and sits on the EULAR taskforce for using physical activity in rheumatic diseases. Raj has extensive clinical and teaching experience across institutions including University College Hospital and Imperial College London, and works in elite sporting environments including premier league football, basketball and cricket. Outside of medicine, he is a professional magician and is on the trustee board for the National Axial Spondyloarthritis Society.
