2019 BASEM Research Bursary Winner: Dr Sonia Bains

Research: Is acute kidney injury a problem in marathon runners? Use of biomarkers of cell cycle arrest: a pilot study.

Dr Sonia Bains is a Sport and Exercise Medicine Registrar London. She currently works at the Institute of Sports, Exercise and Health and with the English Institute of Sport and AFC Wimbledon football club. Her sporting interests include martial arts, tennis and football. Her research interests include physical activity in adults and children with and without chronic illnesses and illness in endurance athletes.
