Research: Biomechanical characteristics of pelvis, hip and groin in female athletes and their association with pain – a systematic review

Dr Paulina Kloskowska is a Sports Physiotherapist, academic, and researcher dedicated to advancing musculoskeletal health and injury prevention, with a particular focus on women in sport. She holds a PhD in Biomechanics, Sports, and Exercise Medicine from Queen Mary University of London, where she investigated the biomechanical determinants of groin pain in athletes. She has a strong Academic background, currently is a Visitingย ย Lecturer in Physiotherapy Education at Kingโ€™s College London. Additionally, she works clinically as a Specialist Physiotherapist at Marylebone Health Group at Harley Street, London.

As an educator and lecturer, Dr Kloskowska is involved in sharing knowledge on the evidence-based treatment and prevention strategies for male and female athletes within and outside of University. Her research explores factors contributing to injury risk and performance in female athletes, aiming at facilitating the research translation into clinical practice. She is currently leading international projects focused on injury prevention in womenโ€™s sport, addressing the unique biomechanical and physiological factors that influence injury risk in female athletes. She advocates for greater scientific attention to women in sport, ensuring tailored rehabilitation strategies, injury prevention approaches, and equal representation in physiotherapy, sports medicine, education and research.
