Lucy Wright BSc (Hons) Physio. MSc Med. & Sci. in Sp. & Ex.
Titled APA Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist
I have been working in Sport and Exercise Medicine as a Physiotherapist for over 16 years. Currently I work with the Australian Olympic Sailing team as well as running my own private practice in North Devon. My role mirrors closely that of an SEM Consultants where I split my time between these two roles and enjoy the crossover of MSK skills as well as performance medicine skills.
BASEM has a wide memberships base including students, GPโs, AHPโs and many other specialities with an interest in Sport and Exercises. I do believe that long term all specialities of medicine will have to integrate exercise medicine within their practice and will benefit from the extensive knowledge provided by an organisation like BASEM.
I have been on the BASEM on the Education Committee for over two years now we have worked on developing Education for our BASEM Members from the Foundation Courses to Conference development, research grants and on-line resources. We have so many aspects of clinical practice that are influenced by SEM and the role it plays for long term management of patients.
I hope that my new role as trustee can work on these foundations to expand on all these areas for our members.
