The 7th Delegated Decision on the Directive 2005/36/EC published on 31st May 2024 adds Sports medicine among the medical specialties for the automatic recognition of professional qualifications
The European Commission has published on 31st May its last Delegated Decision in relation to the Directive 2005/36/EC on recognition of professional qualifications.
We are pleased to announce that this Delegated Decision has finally added Sports medicine as a medical specialty. This recognition allows then sports doctors to be recognised and established in another EU member state, with automatic recognition of their qualifications.
The automatic recognition mechanism for the medical specialty Sports Medicine is now possible among the following countries:
- Bulgaria
- Croatia
- Estonia
- Finland
- Italy
- Latvia
- Lithuania
- Malta
- Poland
- Portugal
- Romania
