| With all the votes now checked, and on behalf of BASEM Board, I am in position to confirm that at the BASEM Annual General Meeting held on 23 September 2026, members have voted in favour of dissolving BASEM and proceeding with its re-formation as the College of Sport, Exercise and Musculoskeletal Medicine (CSEM). With 144 votes cast, the results of the transfer vote (the ordinary resolution) were 98.6% (142/144) for the resolution, and 1.4 % (2/144) against the resolution, which means that this resolution was carried. The same votes were received for the 2nd resolution, which dealt more operationally with BASEM articles of association, allowing the Board to better manage this transfer process and not having the Board members terms of office concluding, which means that this resolution was also carried. The AGM reports were also accepted by the BASEM members voting at the AGM. This is a significant and positive moment for our organisation and for the future of the sport and exercise medicine specialty. On behalf of the BASEM Board, I would like to thank everyone who attended the AGM and those who submitted proxy votes, thereby contributing to this positive mandate to proceed with the merger and the formation of CSEM. I would also like to thank the wider membership for your engagement, thoughtful questions and continued support throughout this significant process and this journey. The vote enables us to proceed with the formal steps required to complete the transition. There will be no immediate change to your membership, and you do not need to take any action at this stage. Your existing membership and access to member services and benefits will continue during the transition.
