CSEM Board Announcement

BASEM and FSEM recently held an election for the new Board of Trustees at the College of Sport, Exercise and Musculoskeletal Medicine. Following a comprehensive voting process, we have now confirmed the first members of the new Board of Trustees.

The vote was for the roles of President, two Vice-Presidents, an Honorary Secretary, and an Honorary Treasurer. Each nominee for the role had to meet specific eligibility requirements, including Fellowship status (FFSEM(UK)) and recent engagement with FSEM and/or BASEM.

We are delighted to introduce our new Board of Trustees:

  • President: Dr Julia Newton
  • Vice-President: Prof. Dane Vishnubala
  • Vice-President: Prof. Courtney Kipps
  • Honorary Secretary: Dr Polly Baker
  • Honorary Treasurer: Dr Sonia Bains

This is another exciting step forward ahead of the formation of the new College of Sport, Exercise and Musculoskeletal Medicine, and we look forward to seeing the Board help shape the future of the organisation and specialty more widely. Further communications will be released in due course, where we will welcome the new trustees and allow them to introduce themselves as the new board to both BASEM and FSEM members.

We would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all nominees who put themselves forward for these important roles, and value the contributions of every candidate.
