Dr Amit Verma is a Consultant in Sport & Exercise Medicine who completed his specialty training in the North West. He has a 10-year career in elite and professional sport, predominantly in menโs football, but also in other sports such as rugby league, cycling and combat sports.
He is currently the Menโs Pathway Lead Doctor for the Football Association (since 2022), having previously worked in Premier League football with Liverpool FC for 3 seasons and Burnley FC for 2 years. He also volunteered at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, and supported the British Cycling team prior to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics (held in 2021).
He manages a range of complex musculoskeletal and medical conditions related to sport for both NHS and private patients across the North West, working through service providers including Nuffield, BUPA, HCA and Spire. He has also provided regular team care for Huddersfield Town First Team for 3 seasons.
He holds postgraduate certificates in both ultrasound and medical education, and provides clinical and educational supervision for SEM trainees. He currently sits on the โOut of the Blocksโ committee for new SEM consultants.
