Dr Hamish Reid is a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine with Fellowships in the UK and Australasia. He has been Joint Clinical Director of Moving Medicine since its inception in 2018, leading the development of its resources. He was the first author of the โBenefits Outweigh the Risksโ consensus statement, which has received 60 citations to date and an Altmetric score of 327. Hamish also leads the Active Conversations course and is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers.
Having trained in the UK, he now lives and works in Christchurch, New Zealand, with his family. Dr Reid is the team doctor for Crusaders Rugby, works with Pinnacle Sports Physicians, and serves as Medical Director for Proactive Healthcare. He continues to pursue his academic interest in physical activity and behaviour change through his role as a Visiting Researcher at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre at Sheffield Hallam University.
