In this keynote, Dr Enda King will take the audience on a journey through the evolution of his field. Through a personal lens, he will examine the pivotal shifts in philosophy and practice that have transformed rehabilitation from a passive, injury-focussed discipline to a dynamic, athlete-centred science.
Dr King will begin by reflecting on the outdated "rest is best" mindset that defined the early days of his career. This will set the stage for a deep dive into the present, a world where the intersection of data, biomechanics, and holistic care has revolutionised how we manage injuries and prepare athletes for return to sport. He will showcase how modern tools like wearable tech and advanced imaging are not just diagnostic aids, but essential components of a personalised, evidence-based recovery plan.
Finally, Dr King will cast a visionary gaze into the future, exploring the exciting potential of emerging technologies like predictive AI and regenerative medicine.
