Optimal timing of return to running is a critical clinical decision. This presentation will examine a criteria-based framework designed to strengthen clinical decision-making and support a progressive return to running pathway.
It will explore the key biomechanical demands on the calf muscle complex during running and their implications for performance and rehabilitation; the role of clinical and performance testing in determining return to running readiness; and practical applications for clinicians to guide safe, individualised return to run progressions.
