Driving the Tool: Prompt Engineering & Practical Applications

1:45
Tuesday
New Dock Hall

In this session, Mr Ed VanBaak will introduce the concept of prompt engineering - how to move beyond simple questions to craft effective, nuanced prompts that maximise the usefulness of AI systems in clinical practice. Attendees will learn the principles of iterative refinement and explore how thoughtful interaction with AI can enhance accuracy, efficiency, and insight. The session will also feature an interactive discussion, โ€œAI in Your Practice,โ€ inviting participants to share real-world experiences of how AI is already supporting their work in sports and exercise medicine and to identify areas where AI could offer further benefit. Examples from quality improvement projects will illustrate practical applications, from AI-assisted note completion to equitable resource allocation.
