This presentation will outline the role and scope of the pelvic health physiotherapist within a multidisciplinary team. Pelvic floor dysfunction will be introduced, with signs, symptoms, and guidance on screening provided. Insights into evaluating pelvic floor load capacity and managing the persistently symptomatic patient will be discussed, along with an understanding of the difference between weak and non-relaxing pelvic floor muscles.

Ms Grรกinne Donnellyย is an Advanced Physiotherapist in pelvic health with over 15 years of experience in both the NHS and private practice. She is actively involved in clinical research and is currently undertaking a Doctoral Research Programme at Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK, where her research focuses on postpartum return to running. She serves on the Board of Trustees for the Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy network and the Specialist Advisory Board for the Active Pregnancy Foundation.
Ms Donnelly is the Editor-in-Chief of theย Journal of Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapyย and is currently editing a scientific textbook with Elsevier titledย Sports Medicine and the Pelvic Floor: Science to Practice.
