In professional rugby, an off-field screen (a modified Sports Concussion Assessment Tool) is used to assess whether players without obvious signs of concussion can return to the field. The sensitivity and specificity of the off-field screen in diagnosing concussion are 77% and 87%, respectively. Although an objective oculomotor test could logically improve these diagnostic metrics, there is currently insufficient evidence in rugby that any specific tool can achieve this.
