The Richmond Group of Charities is a collaboration of health organisations funded by Sport England to support people with long-term conditions in becoming more active. The Richmond Group of Charities is responsible for delivering the 'We Are Undefeatable' behaviour change campaign.
This campaign is shaped by research involving people living with long-term conditions, focussing on the barriers they face to physical activity. They also engage with various health and sport professionals who support them, exploring their attitudes towards physical activity, as well as their knowledge and confidence in working with individuals with long-term conditions. Their research reveals, among other findings, a significant gap in the perceptions of barriers to movement.
Understanding these barriers and the differing perceptions of them helpsThe Richmond Group of Charities better support people in becoming more active. They apply this knowledge not only in their own practices but also seek to share it to encourage changes in broader professional practices and to influence policy.
