This hands-on workshop showcases the integration of sprint-specific force assessment, electromyography (EMG), and dynamic ultrasound to accelerate return-to-play following hamstring injury. Led by Dr. Martin McIntyre, founder of the HRIG and The Sports Injury Clinic in Castlebar, Ireland, and supported by leading experts in EMG and ultrasound, this session will demonstrate the use of the HRIG isometric hamstring performance device โ€” a world-leading tool used by elite teams across Soccer, Rugby, NFL, and Gaelic Football to assess hamstring function during late swing and early stance. Dr. Martin McIntyre is a leading expert in performance evaluation, health and fitness, exercise physiology, sports biomechanics, and the prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. He is the founder ofย The Sports Injury Sports Medicine Clinicย in Castlebar, County Mayo, where he brings a wealth of academic and practical experience to the field of sports medicine.

Dr. McIntyre holds aย PhD from Liverpool John Moores University, with a specialization inย Hamstring Muscle Strength Assessment and the Association with Injury Risk in Gaelic Football. His academic background also includes aย MSc in Sports Injury (Medicine)ย from the University of Sheffield, aย MSc in Gaelic Footballย from the Institute of Technology Tralee, and aย BSc (Hons) in Sports Scienceย from Liverpool John Moores University. Additionally, he completed aย Higher Diploma in Science and Football, also at Liverpool John Moores University.

Over his distinguished career, Martin has worked extensively with elite-level athletes and teams across Ireland and the UK. Dr. McIntyre has contributed significantly to sports science research, with publications in leading journals such as theย British Journal of Sports Medicineย and theย Journal of Sports Sciences. His work continues to inform best practices in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and athletic performance enhancement.
